As an entrepreneur, designer and academic, Jonas has used his work to explore and expand the boundaries of how complexity can be manufactured. Jonas developed his taste for form and fabrication while pursuing an MFA in metalsmithing, and it propelled him into teaching positions at several colleges of architecture.
Jonas has used his training as a fine artist and his experience as an academic to inspire and guide his many professional collaborations with architects and designers. His unique perspective and empathy for the built environment has differentiated his work and design process and remains a core attribute of Seeyond.
Jonas is fascinated by the cutting edge intersection of design, material innovation and computation. But having worked off the grid in developing countries, he finds equal joy in the positive impact that creative problem solving can have on broader human and social challenges. In his research, his work and his teaching, Jonas hopes to promote an understanding of design through craft and continue to have a positive impact on others.
